Cancer Rehabilitation

Progress • Recover • Support

The Cancer Rehabilitation program offers supervised exercise designed to educate and support cancer patients and survivors. It’s intended to aid in recovery and general fitness during and after treatment. Some of the benefits of exercise for cancer survivors are: improving cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength, reducing fatigue, improving ability to perform day-to-day activities, enhancing mood while reducing anxiety, reducing pain and nausea, and refocusing energy from illness to wellness.

We are the only facility in Northern Nevada to offer this continuum of care for all types of cancer.

The program is supervised by a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist and includes:

  • Pre- and post-assessments
  • Individualized exercise program in a class setting
  • One-hour classes, two days a week for six months
  • Six-month membership to Saint Mary’s Center for Health & Fitness
